For the love of station wagons.

I took the following photo in Toronto last weekend and knew immediatly that I would blog about it.

I find it sad when you see a great car gone to rust. This Mercedes was a great car, and it could still be one today if someone was to imput heaps of $$$ and TLC. It wouldn't hurt to be a bloody great welder as well.
Perhaps I'm prejudice because I grew up being driven around in one, but station wagons are the shit! They are just so ridicously useful they put sedans to shame and make trucks scared. As you will see in the photo which follows, my family has 4 Volvo 240's.

It's kinda crazy but three of them work and one is a parts car. We bought one last summer for a whopping $100 and it has enough spunk left in it that I'm working on it to take me across the continent in the upcoming years. It will be sweet... who can resist a custom Volvo wagon? Seriously, it cries out sexy... and safe!

EDIT:

I found two pictures of wagons that I'd taken in 2004 during a trip to B.C. The blue one is a Datsun and the white one is a Toyota. I laughed when I found the picts and had to put them up.

Wow! I never knew about your great passion for station wagons, although I always suspected you had a weak spot for them.

Actually, the one with the rust IS quite alluring. I'm in Toronto this weekend, maybe you can give me its address ;)

Sure young lady. The directions are quite simple. Go to 'The Green Room' on Bloor St., quaft a couple of pints, then head south in the ally behind the bar and keep your eyes peeled.

Side Note: Since posting this post I have found even more picts of wagons I took in MTL but didn't put them up due to shyness.
I think I'm addicted
